A little about me to start your day!

A little about me to start your day!

Hello and welcome! I have decided to start a page to chronicle the battle I have with the clutter in my house, and in my mind. I have found there is a direct correlation to these two things. When I can look around and see things are clean around me, and feel that things are in their place, I feel at peace, at ease, and I know everything is going to be all right. I have always known this, but not applied it, not strived for it. I think that I am a lazy, disorganized, laid back, sleeping on piles of clean laundry sort of person. I have lived as an adult, in my own apartment, my own house, alone, and with my boyfriend/husband for almost 15 years. In all that time, I have never really conquered the part of my brain that wants to be a hermit that lives among her piles, and dust and it's baby bunnies.

We have recently moved our family to a new state, a new house. What better time to start over? I can't think of one, can you? This house is lovely, only 5 years old, tall open ceilings, good storage, big closets. When it is clean, and things are put away, it is a beautiful house, and I really enjoy being here, but I have noticed already that it becomes very  messy very quickly. Of course, I have to add, that part of the problem is that there are 4 of us, but only one of us actually picks things up, puts things away. It is no wonder I get a bit slack in my duties, who wants to work as a maid 15 hours a day? Certainly not me.

I am sitting here in a lovely dining room, sunlight flooding in the patio doors, but the table is covered with stacks of school papers, phone books, overdue library books, unpaid bills, and my cute little pink Bible. Who can work, much less think in these conditions? I think I will go clear out my DVR before I dig into this big project. That will certainly help me clear my mind!

If you have any tips for getting organized, and clearing out clutter, I would love to hear them, I need all the help I can get! Have a good day!
